Mostafa Benzaazoua

M. Benzaazoua joined the University of Quebec (UQAT) in 1996 beneficiating from a postdoctoral position. He became professor in 1997 in the same university and held a Canada Research Chair (CRC) between 2003 and 2011 in the field of Mine waste integrated management. Between 2009 and 2016 he co-hold an International Research Chair funded by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) jointly with the CRC program with the collaboration of UCA Marrakech University (Morocco). He worked on large number of government funded and industry sponsored projects dealing with applied mineralogy and geochemistry for mine and industrial pollution control, waste management stabilization and valorization, mine site rehabilitation and mineral/waste processing. He became also since 2008 full member of the CRIB (Centre de recherche sur les infrastructures en béton).

Actual research interests

  • Industrial and mine wastes characterization, traitment, stabilization, and valorization, cemented mine backfill, reactivity of aggregates, geopolumerization.
