Mahdi Ben Ftima

Mahdi Ben Ftima is an assistant professor in the Civil, Geological and Mining Engineering department at Polytechnique Montreal where he has been since 2014. He joined Polytechnique after ten years of experience as structural engineer at SNC-Lavalin Hydro division in Montreal, where he contributed into the design of several hydroelectric facilities. Since 2016, he is vice president special projects and partner in IDAE consulting company. Mahdi completed his Ph.D. at Polytechnique Montreal in 2013 and his undergraduate studies at Polytechnic school of Tunisia in 2000. His research interests lie in the areas of non-linear analysis of structures, design of complex reinforced concrete structures, assessment of hydraulic structures affected by the alkali-aggregate reaction, multi-physical simulation and constitutive models for concrete structures.
